MOHAN Foundation participates in CME on Organ Donation organized by Zen Hospital, Mumbai

  • On 4th November 2017, MOHAN Foundation was invited to a CME on Organ Donation organized by Zen Hospital, Navi Mumbai.

    The programme was organized with a view to sensitizing the hospital nurses, intensivists and ICU staff with the concept of organ donation and brain death.

    The programme included the following talks –

    1. An Overview on Organ Donation by Prof. Dr. Darius Mirza, Head, HPB and Transplant Surgeon, Apollo Hospitals, Navi Mumbai
    2. Identification, Certification of Brain Stem Death by Dr. Gunadhar Padhi, ICU Consultant, Apollo Hospitals, Navi Mumbai
    3. Organ Donor Maintenance and Role of Staff by Dr. Suresh Vasanth, Lead Consultant, Anaesthesia (HPB), Apollo Hospitals, Navi Mumbai
    4. Eye and Skin Donation, Myths and Misconceptions on Organ Donation by Ms. Meera Suresh, Sneh Bandhan Trust, Mumbai
    5. Organ Retrieval preparation and process by Dr. Vikram Raut, Transplant Surgeon, Apollo Hospitals, Navi Mumbai
    6. Transportation of organs and Role of Transplant Coordinator by Mrs. Sujata Ashtekar, Consultant, ROTTO Mumbai
    7. Hospital Registration as NTORC – Needs and Process by Mr. Prakash Saindane, Transplant Coordinator, Apollo Hospitals, Navi Mumbai

    The programme ended with a vote of thanks by Ms.Meera Suresh of Sneh Bandhan Trust, Mumbai.
