MOHAN Foundation invited to One day National Advocacy Conference on National Organ Transplant Programme (NOTP)

  • On March 27, 2015, National Organ & Tissue Transplant Organisation (NOTTO) organised a One day National Advocacy Conference for sensitisation of State Health Secretaries/DHS and other stakeholders on National Organ Transplant Programme (NOTP) in Vardhman Medical College & Safdarjung Hospital campus, New Delhi. MOHAN Foundation was one of the invitees.

     

    The objective of the conference was to bring together all the stakeholders like Regional Organ & Tissue Transplant Organisations (ROTTOs), State Organ & Tissue Transplant Organisations (SOTTOs), other states/tertiary care hospitals, medical colleges and private institutions involved in Organ Transplant and Organ Retrieval on a common platform so that the kind of central support available could be informed and they could play their role.

     

    Shri. B.P. Sharma (Secretary, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of India) was the chief guest and Dr. Jagdish Prasad (DGHS, MOHFW) was the guest of honor. The conference started with a welcome note by Dr. B.D. Athani (Special DGHS) followed by the launch of the NOTTO website and address by the guest of honor. Mr Sharma also released the 'Operational Guidelines of NOTP.'

     

    Following the inaugural function were common plenary sessions where representatives of different states involved in organ transplant and retrieval spoke on the various activities related to advocacy and awareness on organ donation and their preparedness as ROTTO and SOTTO.
