  • MOHAN Foundation was felicitated by His Excellency, Dr. K. Rosaiah, Governor of Tamil Nadu at the launch of the magazine ‘India Reigns’ on 4th November 2013 at Hotel Savera, Chennai.

India Reigns is a monthly magazine in English whose main focus is social responsibility and people’s services. It was, therefore, only fitting that on the occasion of its launch 15 service-oriented persons and organizations were presented awards. Dr. Sunil Shroff, Managing Trustee, received the award on behalf of MOHAN Foundation from His Excellency, Dr. K. Rosaiah. This was in recognition of the extensive work that MOHAN Foundation has done in the field of deceased organ donation and transplantation in India.

The other dignitaries present on the occasion were Justice V. Ramasubramanian, Hon’ble Judge, High Court of Madras, Mr. R. Natraj, IPS, DGP (Retd), Former Chairman, TNPSC, Mr. Sudhangan, Senior Journalist & Consultant Editor – India Reigns and Mr. Joseph Emmanuel, Editor-in-Chief – India Reigns.

In their speeches, the dignitaries underlined the importance of the press in keeping the public informed about important issues and shaping public opinion. His Excellency, Dr. K. Rosaiah said that the press has played a great role in awakening the people. He added that the motto of India Reigns “Thinking liberates” was most apt. This struck a chord with the work that MOHAN Foundation is doing to educate the community about organ donation and the support that it has received both from the print and the electronic media.
