  MOHAN foundation conducted an awareness session on organ donation on 8 June 2018 at the invitation of Mr. Sharad Jighkar, Regional Transport Officer, Giripeth, Nagpur. It was for drivers who apply for vehicle registration and driving license.

  Mr. Bulu Behera, Transplant Coordinator MOHAN Foundation explained the Concepts of Organ Donation. In his talk he explained for following points:

  v  Why, What, when and how of Organ Donation

  v  The Law of Organ Donation

  v  Types of death - Brain Death, Natural Death and Coma

  v  Myths related to Organ donation

  v  Deceased donation cases in Nagpur

  v  Kidney transplant hospital in Nagpur

  v  Importance of Donor card, Helpline number and website.

  It was a very interactive session. 32 drivers were present at the talk and 5 drivers signed consent form and took donor cards.

  The drivers asked the following questions:

  • In case of natural death why organ cannot be donated?
  • After Brain death what is the time duration for organ donation?
