On 30th October, 2013 an awareness session on organ donation was organized for the staff of software service exporter Infosys Ltd, Trivandrum. Some Infosys employees joined together and they started a social service trust named as Sanjeevani. They are doing a lot of charitable work across Trivandrum. Sanjeevani invited Mrithasanjeevani, Kerala Network for Organ Sharing (KNOS) to educate their Trust members on Organ Donation. The programme held at Jacquescouspeau hall Techno Park, Trivandrum.
Mr. Raseem, analyst, Infosys, delivered a welcome speech. Following that, Dr. Noble Gracious, Nodal Officer, Mrithasanjeevani, Kerala Network for Organ Sharing (KNOS) made his presentation and he covered the following topics; what is organ donation, importance of organ donation, organ donation in Kerala, Mrithasanjeevani’s role in organ donation, types of donation, natural death and brain death, importance of donor card and KNOS transplant registry.
Mr. A. Johnson and Mr. P. V. Aneesh of MOHAN Foundation, deputed to Kerala, assisted in the session and distributed information brochures and donor cards. Around 80 members participated in the programme and all of them pledged their organs by signing donor card.
