MOHAN Foundation conducts awareness talk on organ donation at Sri Guru Gobind Singh School, Sector-35, Chandigarh

  On 13^th January, 2017, MOHAN Foundation was invited by Ms. Alka Pabbi, NSS Program Officer of Sri Guru Gobind Singh School, Sector-35, Chandigarh to conduct an awareness talk for their students at the NSS camp of their school. Approximately 60 students from class 12^th attended the session.

   

  Students were given an introduction & presentation on organ donation and brain death by Ms. Deepika Arora. The talk focused on concepts of organ donation and transplantation.

   

  Explained the following points:-

  • Necessity and importance of organ donation
  • Types of donors
  • In case of natural death which tissues can be donated
  • In case of brain death which organs and tissues can be donated
  • Myths on organ donation
  • Importance of donor card

   

  It was a very interactive session wherein the participants asked following questions:

  1. Which organs can be donated after natural death?
