  • MOHAN Foundation conducted its fifth session of awareness talk among auto drivers on October 19, 2018. Mr. Amal Antony Augustian (Intern from Madras Medical Mission College of Health Sciences) was the resource person. Auto stands in different streets of Halls Road were visited and brochures, green ribbons, donor cards, were distributed among the drivers. In addition to this, stickers representing the message of organ donation and helpline number of MOHAN Foundation were put up on the autos of drivers who consented.

There were numerous queries relating to organ donation which included:

    1. Why should I let my family know that I am willing to donate organs?
    2. How will the organ donation process start after my family agrees for donation?
    3. Will my family be charged?
    4. Why should I donate?
    5. I am old, can I donate?

At the end of the session there were 3 donor registrations and 5 auto drivers supporting the cause by placing the stickers on their autos. A “Proud to be an Organ Donor” badge was given to the auto drivers as a token of appreciation for their support.

MOHAN Foundation thanks the auto drivers for participating and supporting this initiative.

The National Organ Donation Tollfree HelpLine- 1800 103 7100, is operational under the 'Gift Hope, Gift Life' project supported by the SBI Foundation and SBI DFHI Limited.
