MOHAN Foundation was invited for an awareness program on Organ Donation at the State Bank of India, Local Head Office in Nungambakkam on 15th December 2017 at 11:30 AM. Dr. Hemal Kanvinde, Mr. Siva Shankar, Mr. Raja and Ms. Persis Flory represented MOHAN Foundation.
Mr. Ram Prasad P.V, Circle Development Officer, Mr. M. Kasi Rajkumar, Assistant General Manager, N. Ramalingam, Chief Manager – Industrial Relations and Mr. Radhakrishnan, Assistant General Manager – HR were the dignitaries at the session. All the staff of SBI who attended were given a green ribbon and an information brochure.
Mr. Ram Prasad P.V. introduced Dr. Hemal Kanvinde to the participants and said that he was a registered donor nearly 5 years ago. Dr. Hemal Kanvinde started by acknowledging SBI's support to the Foundation. This was followed by a talk on the concepts of Organ Donation. The Concept of Brain Death was explained with the help of a presentation and a film. Then information about organ donation and transplantation was also explained to the audience.
Mr. Siva Shankar conducted a quiz based on a popular game called “Connection” which was about the films that showcased Organ Donation. The staff who answered were given a prize of the donor pin. At the end, a donor acknowledgment video was played. Doubts raised by the staff after the session were answered.
A separate desk for registration was manned by Mr. Raja and Ms. Persis. The session ended with a group photo. 40 staff attended the session out of which 34 of them registered for organ donation.
