MOHAN Foundation was invited by Mr. Srinivasulu, In-charge, Traffic Training Institute to conduct an awareness session on organ donation for their trainee constables on May 28, 2015.
Dr. Koti Reddy of MOHAN Foundation gave an exclusive presentation about the importance of deceased organ donation, religious and cultural barriers involved with organ donation & eye donation, benefits of transplantation, T.H.O 1994 Act, concept of brain death and myths surrounding organ donation.
All the trainee constables were really motivated during the presentation and came up with a lot of questions on the technical aspects of organ donation, advantages of deceased organ donation, requirement and availability of organs for ill patients and legal aspects involved in organ donation.
We thank the Mr. Srinivasulu, In-charge, Traffic Training Institute for making this innovative move on getting trainee constables trained on organ donation and they will in turn will spread the information to the general public.
We also thank all the participants for their active participation and hope that this event has enlightened everybody on organ donation.
