MOHAN Foundation conducts Awareness Talk on Organ Donation at Government Model Senior Secondary School Sector-21, Chandigarh

  • On 3rd November, 2014 MOHAN Foundation Chandigarh conducted an awareness session for the school students of Government Model Senior Secondary  School Sector-21, Chandigarh under the “Student Awareness Campaign” which started on, to cover all the students of government schools in Chandigarh. The Principal and vice Principal of the School helped us a lot in arraigning the session and they supports the cause of organ donation and made the session a week long programme so that all the sections of the higher classes shall be covered. It was the last day of the program in which the students from science stream were covered.

     

    Around 100 students participated in the program and they were from 11th and 12th standard and were given a presentation on the phenomenon of Brain Death and the process of organ donation through a presentation and videos by the Program Coordinator Nilakshi. The myths and misconception associated with organ donation were also discussed and got cleared. The donor cards were shown to them.

     

    After the presentation students discussed the whole process of organ retrieval and transplantation. Around 75 cards were taken by the students and teachers as well.
