On 7th September, 2015 MOHAN foundation conducted an awareness session at Government Model Senior Secondary School, Khuda Alisher (Village near Chandigarh) in which around 50 students participated from 12th class. The session was started by asking the students about blood donation and eye donation and majority of them knew about it already. Some of the students knew a little about organ donation. A student’s father has donated his organs so knew a little about Organ donation.
The presentation was given by Nilakshi to the students in which all the aspects were covered regarding organ donation like
What is Organ Donation?
What is brain death and cardiac death?
Which organs can be retrieved after brain or natural death?
What are the laws pertaining to Organ Donation?
Students asked various question like how can they be donors and about coma and brain death. It was interactive session and students attentively participated in the session. They were given information broachers and donor cards. Around 10 donor cards were taken.
