MOHAN Foundation was invited by Sri. Ravi Kumar and Sri. Gopi to conduct organ donation awareness camp in association with Vision Club of Vijayawada on 19th February 2015.
Ms. Shanti explained the purpose, necessity, importance, complex issues in deceased organ donation, concept of brain death, cultural and religious barriers, THO Act and myths related to organ donation. Sri. Gadde Rammohan Rao, MLA Vijayawada East has also addressed the media and stressed upon the importance of organ donation and the role played by youth in taking forward organ donation.
There were about 100 participants that participated and were distributed donor cards and information brochures. The participants reacted positively to the idea and have promised to spread awareness about organ donation in community.
We thank Sri. Gadde Rammohan Rao, MLA Vijayawada East for his gracious presence and kind support in organizing this awareness session and also thank the participants for their support to this noble cause.
