  MOHAN Foundation was invited by Mr. Powar, RTO officer, Nagpur branch to conduct an awareness session on organ donation for drivers who apply for vehicle registration and driving license on 13 October, 2015.

  Mr. Bulu Behera delivered a talk on Organ donation. In his talk he explained the following:

  • Importance and need of Organ donation
  • Types of organ donations –Live and deceased donation
  • Difference between Natural death, Coma and Brain Death
  • Difference between Organ & Tissues
  • Eye donation, Body donation and Skin donation
  • Importance of Donor card
  • MOHAN Foundation activities, Helpline number and website

   

  It was a very interactive session. The participants raised queries about organ sharing and allocation, contradictions in donating organs and tissues, whom to be contacted in case of emergency.

  The Participants asked the following questions.

  Whom to contact for organ donation.

  If we want to donate our organs why family consent is important?

  What is the process of Eye Donation?

  How much time is required for Eye Retrieval?
