MOHAN Foundation Conducts Awareness Talk on Organ Donation for newly recruited JBT Teachers – Session 6

  • On 22nd September, 2016 MOHAN foundation was invited by Ms. Mamta Sharma, Assistant Professor, State Council of Educational Research & Training, Chandigarh, to conduct an awareness session for their newly recruited JBT teachers. Which was the part of 20 days long training session. Around 41 teachers from different schools of Chandigarh attended the session.

     

    The State Institute of Education, U.T. Chandigarh is the pioneer Institute of North India which has embarked upon itself to provide for the quality Education and acquaint the teachers with the latest in the field of education.

     

    Teachers were given an introduction by Ms. Mamta Sharma and presentation on Organ Donation and Brain Death by Ms. Deepika Arora .

     

    In this Talk she explained what is Organ Donation, Types of Donation, Difference between Natural Death & Brain Death, Myths on Organ donation, Importance of Donor Card. Promote Organ Donation video and film on Brain Death was also shown to the teachers to clarify the concept of brain death.

    Queries were raised by Teachers: -

     Whether transplanted organs can be donated?

    Are the Hospitals Selling Organs?

    How long the organs are stored?

     

    At the end of the session Ms. Deepika requested the teachers that they promote organ donation movement and also help spread the awareness of the organ donation in the families and Schools as the play vital role in the Education system.

     

    All the teachers were highly motivated with the cause and promised that they promote organ donation movement and sharing this knowledge among the school staff.

     

    It was a very interactive session. 41 Brochures and 41 Donor cards were picked up by Teachers. All of them took Donor card.
