MOHAN Foundation Conducts Awareness Talk on Organ Donation at Red Cross - Punjab, Chandigarh - Session 100

  • On 19th February 2018, MOHAN Foundation was invited by the secretary, Red Cross – Punjab, Chandigarh to conduct an awareness talk on Organ Donation for their First Aid Students at Vivekanand Bhawan, Chandigarh. Around 60 participants from various parts of Punjab, Haryana & Chandigarh College Students, Patient Care Attendants, Home nursing, Nannies and Bus Conductors participated in the session.

     

    Participants were given an introduction and presentation on Organ donation and brain death by Ms. Aakriti Negi.

     

    In this talk she explained the following points: -

    • Organ donation types and who can be a donor
    • The status of Organ Donation in India
    • Myths about organ donation
    • Difference between natural death and brain death
    • Organ donation and its types – Live & Deceased donation
    • Importance of Donor card
    • To pledge their organs they can register at Mohan Foundation
    • MOHAN foundation mission & vision

     

    They can also motivate people at work place, neighbourhood and their community.

     

    The entire group was motivated that they will support Organ donation movement in a big way. It was extremely an amazing session as participants took pledged to donate their organs and they would like to share with their family. Participants also asked various questions on organ donation after the presentation.
