Hospital promotes organ donation in waiting hall.

  • On 27th January 2017, Super Specialty Hospital, Nagpur, invited MOHAN Foundation to speak about organ donation to the outpatients. Dr. Shrigiriwar   arranged the stall where MOHAN Foundation displayed information brochures, donor cards, standees and a banner.   Mr.Bulu Behera & Ms. Kanchan Shewde Transplant coordinators managed the stall.

     Information given to outpatients:

     Who can donate organs and value of a donor card.

    Types of deaths

    What can be donated after Brain Death, after Natural Death and while living.

    How and where is waitlist of organ failure patients?

    MOHAN Foundation activities, Helpline number & MOHAN Foundation website

     25 patients visited the stall. After understanding about organ donation, 10 patients took consent form & 2 patients signed consent form and picked a donor card, other will sign consent form after discussing with their family.

     

    Questions asked by visitors.

    1) What organs can be donated by a  living person?

    2) Living kidney donor after some year can he suffer kidney disease?

    3) Well the body appear disfigured after organ donation?
