Guest lecture on Impact of Deceased Donations on Nurses

  • On 18th January 2018, a guest lecture was organized for the staff of MOHAN Foundation at the Chennai office. This was a skype talk on “Impact of Deceased Donations on Nurses” by Dr. Anne Floden, Ph.D, RN, Clinical Researcher & Adjunct Assistant Professor, Sodra Alvsborg Hopsital, Sweden. She presented through a Skype video call from Sweden to MOHAN Foundation around 4.30 p.m.

    Mrs. Lalitha Raghuram, Country Director, MOHAN Foundation, staff of MOHAN Foundation and transplant coordinators attended this session. 

    Dr. Anne Floden explained about the process of Organ donation & transplantations in Sweden and the role of organ transplant nurses. She shared her research experiences “Attitude towards organ donor advocacy among Swedish Intensive Critical Care Unit Nurses” and “Perioperative Nurses’ Experiences of Participating in the Organ Donation Process”. She explained the results of her research papers to us. It was an interesting session about the transplant nurses.

    At the end of the session, there was discussion on the methodology of the studies Dr. Anne Floden clarified the doubts. Mrs. Lalitha Raghuram, Country Director, MOHAN Foundation thanked Dr. Anne Floden for sparing her valuable time and invited her to come to India.
