An information desk was set up at the Thirumangalam Metro Station to create awareness on organ donation among the commuters using the Metro services. Information brochures, registration forms, donor cards and green ribbons were available at the desk with which was decked up with green balloons and banners. Ms Ishwarya - Helpline Executive, MOHAN Foundation, Mr Amal Antony Augustian - Intern and volunteers from MMM College of Allied Health Sciences were present at the stall to handle commuter enquiries and take pledges.

Ms Ishwarya explained the concepts of organ donation to all the commuters who stopped by the desk. These interactions helped clear the many doubts the public had about organ donation. The volunteers went around the station distributing brochures and encouraging people to pledge their organs.  Those who registered received their donor cards and were explained its significance. The public had questions about whole body donation, organ donation and allocation process and family consent to name a few.

A total of 53 commuters including two policemen, Metro staff, students and office goers registered as organ donors and supported the event. MOHAN Foundation thanks the Chennai Metro Rail Limited for supporting the cause of organ donation.
