Book lovers learn about Organ donation at Mathrubhumi International Book Exhibition.

  • From 2nd to 15th December 2013 the leading daily Malayalam newspaper Mathrubhumi organized an international book fest and trade festival at Kanakakunnu palace ground. This mega book fair attracts book lovers from all over Kerala. The book festival also featured book releases, discussions and cultural fests etc. As part of the book exhibition they invited Mrithasanjeevani to place an organ donation information stall. On 3rd to 15th December Mrithasanjeevani setup the awareness stall at Kanakakunnu palace Ground. Mr. A. Johnson, Project Manager, Aneesh P. V, Transplant Coordinator and Ms. S. Saranya, Trainee Transplant Coordinator from MOHAN Foundation deputed to Mrithasanjeevani, Kerala manned the stall.   

     

    They distributed the organ donation information brochure to the visitors of the stall. All the exhibition volunteers visited the stall and pledged their organs by signing the donor card. Apart from the volunteers, around 150 people signed the donor card.

     

    The important topics were explained to the people were: The  Mrithasanjeevani project, importance of organ donation, difference between natural death & brain death, age criteria for organ donation, procedure of organ donation, importance of donor card, myths on organ donation, organs that can be donated in cardiac death and brain death.
