  • On May 12, 2013 MOHAN foundation's team was invited to address the Jain community people on organ donation at Digamber Jain Mandir, Bank Enclave, Laxmi Nagar, New Delhi. The session was incorporated during the free health check up camp set up in the mandir by the community members. The camp was organized as part of social responsibility and community service towards the society during the function,"Jain Milan."

The initiative to have a session on organ donation during this event was taken by Dr Kapil, a practicing non invasive cardiologist working in State Bank of India, New Delhi. Dr Kapil apart from being a dedicated doctor takes part in such social & community activities in his spare time.

The talk was conducted in Hindi and attended by 30-40  people. Important aspects of organ donation like brain death/cardiac death, organs/tissues that can be donated, the law (THO act), donor card, major hospitals doing transplantation and role of MOHAN foundation were addressed.

Post the session, queries on body donation and eye donation were aptly handled by the MF team. About 30 people took organ donor cards.
