Awareness program of Organ Donation at the Society of Critical Care Medicine (Nagpur Chapter)

  • The Society of Critical Care Medicine(SCCM) (Nagpur Chapter) held awareness program of Organ donation & transplantation on 10th September 2017 at the Centre Point Hotel, Nagpur. The program was held in association with Indian Society of Critical Care Medicine and sponsored by Innovative Superconditioning solutions. Dr. Ravi Wankhede Nagpur Centre Head of MOHAN Foundation and Secretary of ZTCC-Nagpur was the keynote speaker.

    The program started with lighting of Lamp by the invited guests which included Dr. Vibhavari Dani President of ZTCC Nagpur, Dr. N.K. Garg the CMD of by Innovative Superconditioning Solutions, Dr. Nikhil Balankhe Chairman & Dr. Ashish Ganjare Secretary of SCCM, Dr. Samire Jahagirdar, Dr. S.J. Acharya, Dr. Nirmal Jaiswal and others.

    At the outset Dr. Ravi Wankhede gave PPP covering all aspects of Cadaver Organ Donation and transplantation, more particularly the activities carried out in Nagpur from 2013 onwards. He emphasized the importance of maintenance of brain by the SCCM members, which plays very important role in DOD. A wonderful skit was enacted by the staff of Critical Care Hospital. After the end of the scientific discussion, a question and answer session was held for the general public which was very informative and cleared the doubt of many present.

    Bulu Behera from MF-Nagpur was present in the booth with literature and pledge forms. 46 people picked the pamphlets, out of which 22 opted to pledge their organs and were given the donor cards.
