  Axis Bank, Mylapore organized an Awareness session on Organ Donation for their employees on 28^th July 2014. Ms. Uma,   of Human Resources Department invited MOHAN Foundation to deliver the talk.

   

  The Programme started at 4:30pm in the Conference hall with a welcome address given by Ms. Uma.  Following that Dr. Hemal, Quality Assurance Officer of MOHAN Foundation delivered a talk on Organ Donation.  In her talk she explained the following:

  • Concepts of Organ Donation
  • Types of Organ Donation- Live and Deceased Donation
  • Difference between Brain death, Coma and Cardiac death
  • Importance of Donor Card
  • Statistics of Organ Donation
  • Tissues and Organs that can Donated
  • Toll Free Helpline number and MOHAN Foundation website
  • Activities of MOHAN Foundation

   

  The participants asked several questions which are as follows:

  Can the donated organ be given to family member?

  What is the reason for heart Failure?

  What is the value of a registry?

  Does the recipient know the donor?

   

  Totally 29 members participated in the programme and 13 wished to pledge their Organs and picked the Donor Card.
