On 14th July 2016, MOHAN Foundation was invited to address the officers of Border Security Force (BSF) at Tekanpur, Gwalior. The talk was oragnaised during the 2-day VII Annual Medical Conference and Seminar cum CME organized by BSF Academy and Composite Hospital, BSF Tekanpur, Gwalior.
The senior leaderships of BSF from across the country, including all the senior medical officers were present during the talk. Some of those present for the talk were Shri. K. K Sharma, IPS (Director General), Shri. R K Mishra (ADG, Director Academy), Shri. R P Singh (ADG Eastern Command), Shri. Arun Kumar (ADG Western Command), Dr. H L Raskaran (IG Director Medical) and Dr. S K Srivastava (IG Medical)
The talk was organized by Shri. Santosh Mehra, IG Personnel and was coordinated by Dr. Rajneesh Sharma, Comd (Medical). The objective of the talk was to sensitise the senior leadership and make them fully aware of the nuances of organ donation in India so that they could then discuss ways to percolate the message down to the ranks.
The session was extremely participatory and a lot of discussion took place and some very enlightening questions were asked which were addressed by Ms Pallavi Kumar and Dr Muneet Sahi. The officers also discussed ways to spread the message among the BSF family of more than 2.5 lakh jawans.
50 officers attended the session and 39 donor cards were picked up.
