On 27th April 2018, MOHAN Foundation Mumbai was invited by MGM New Bombay Nursing College, Kamothe, to conduct awareness talk on Organ Donation for its nursing students.
Mr. Amit Shenoy began the session by asking as to what came to their minds when they thought of Organ Donation. Some shared positive thoughts while a few expressed fear and doubt.
MOHAN Foundation, its mission, vision and history were introduced to the students. The concept of organ donation was introduced, types of organs and tissues that can be donated, types of death, the concept of brain death, difference between brain death and comma. Mrs.Amit Shenoy also discussed the myths and facts related to organ donation. He also shared information about organ allocation and distribution.
Of the 120 nursing students who attended the session, many took the pledge.
