Awareness Session on Organ Donation at D. Y. Patil Hospital, Navi Mumbai

  • On 31st January 2018, MOHAN Foundation was invited by Dr. KailashJawade of D. Y. Patil Hospital & Medical College to conduct Awareness Session on Organ Donation at induction programme for its Nursing Students.

    B.Sc. Nursing degree college students performed a skit on Organ Donation followed byMs. Priyadarshini and Dr. KailashJawade had discussion on the need for Organ Donation. MOHAN Foundation representative held interactive session with the Nursing students in which thorough information was given on What is Organ Donation, Who can donate the organs, Why to donate the organs, When and What organs can be donated, Concept of Brain Stem Death, What are the investigatory tests which need to perform for the declaration of Brain Stem Death, What are the various Myths & Misconceptions regarding Organ Donation and the sharing and allocation of Organs. The information on Pledge form and Donor Cards was also given during the session.

    Around 150 Participants were there in the Session who got sensitized on the issue of Organ Donation. Among them 25 students were willing to work for the cause of Organ Donation and also want to attend the Angel of Change Programme.
