Awareness Program on Organ Donation at Sri Kanyaka Parameshwari Arts & Science College for Women

  • MOHAN Foundation was invited for an awareness program on Organ Donation at Sri Kanyaka Parameshwari Arts & Science College for Women, Chennai on 20th December 2017 at 10 A.M. Dr. Hemal Kanvinde and Ms. Suganya represented MOHAN Foundation.  Dr. Mohana Shree, Principal, Mrs. P.S. Sujatha & Mrs. Kavitha, Staff in-charge Youth Red Cross (YRC) organized this session in association with Times of India.    

    Approximately 200 students covering 3rd year of BSc. Psychology, BBA, B. Com, and B.A. Sociology course attended the Awareness Program held in the college auditorium. All the students and staff who were attended this session were given green ribbon and information brochures.

    Dr. Hemal Kanvinde, Quality Assurance Officer, MOHAN Foundation introduced the activities of MOHAN Foundation. This was followed by a talk on the concept of Organ Donation & Brain death. The concept of Brain Death was explained with the help of presentations & films.

    Ms. Suganya conducted a quiz game to the students “Connection” based on Tamil film stories and their depiction of organ donation. At the end students asked doubts on cornea donation.

    51 Students are pledged their organs and picked a donor card. This session ended with the group photo.  We thank Dr. Mohana Shree, Principle of Sri Kanyaka Parameshwari Arts & Science College for Women and Times of India for their support.
