Angels of Change -Volunteer training program at Gill Adarsh Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Day 1

  • MOHAN Foundation conducted a volunteer training on Organ Donation Awareness as part of the ‘Angels of Change’ program at Gill Adarsh Matriculation Higher Secondary School. This training was conducted in the school promises on 1st July 2017 for 21 students of 9th to 12th standard. The green ribbons were given to the students along with the books and DVD’s on the concepts of Organ Donation. The training was conducted by Dr. Hemal Kanvinde and Mr. Siva Shankar of MOHAN Foundation.

    Dr. Hemal Kanvinde introduced the training and activities of MOHAN Foundation and the need for organ donation in India. Mr. Siva Shankar started explained the concepts of Organ Donation to the students. The students were very interactive and asked many doubts on why, what, when on organ donation. Siva Shankar explained about Brain Death as that is the stage in which the multi organs can be donated.

    Dr. Hemal Kanvinde explained the content which is been provided in the resource book and in the CD.  Student volunteers were divided into 4 groups so that each group can come up with the ideas on how to create awareness on organ donation to everyone.  Each group has been given separate topics such as Poster Making, Public Talk, Events and Public Survey. They have given some time to create their ideas and perform it to their school with help of MOHAN Foundation staff.
